Mixed Salad

Mixed Salad is a jazz septet that emerged from the Bristol Jazz Workshops that Rob has attended for a number of years. The band plays an eclectic mix of 60’s Blue Note standards, The Preacher and Work Song; Latin numbers, Saudade; songs from the Great American Songbook, Have You Met Miss Jones and Autumn Leaves; and less well known classics such as Coltrane’s Equinox; all arranged for a four saxophone frontline by workshop tutor Andrew Colman.

Bristol Jazz Workshop Group

Rob plays tenor sax in a Bristol Jazz Workshop Group, a septet (occasional octet) under the tutelage of trumpeter Andrew Colman, that meets weekly during term time to learn jazz standards from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. At the end of each term the group performs at The Hen and Chicken in Southville, Bristol and in 2017 and 2018, they played the Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival.
